Even if I'm busy with my youngest found time to finish vest and cardigan for my baby Alexander.My little darling is almost 2 months old .

For vest used acrylic yarn and designed pattern myself. Will write it down here one day....

Cardigan is from Dropsdesign, yarn Rowan soft baby.

It's realy soft ang lovely yarn 50%wool.

I have been to busy lately

but would like to present you my latest biggest project:

baby Alexander

born at 20.October. 2008

2.32 am

birth weight 3,9kg and 54cm.

It took only 2 hours "real" pains and Voila! here he is, one hour old on the picture!

He doesn't give me much "me" time but allready found minute to start tiny cardigan for him. ;D

Little hearty baby blanket - FREE KNITTING PATTERN

My first "bigger" project this year!

After long searching on the Internet I came up with my own design for baby blanket!

The plan was to make 5 by 7 squares (50cm X 70 cm) to use it as a throw over in buggy but somehow I managed to make it 4 by 5 squares. The pregnant brain makes tricks.

Well, maybe one day I have to rip edging from one side (top or bottom) and add a few square rows.

It looks "right side" from both sides, includes only knit and purl stitches, very simple.

Yarn used: Debbie Bliss cashmerino dk, a bit more than 3 balls for this tiny blanky. 
(As an alternative DROPS yarn group B yarns can be used: DROPS Merino Extra Fine, DROPS Cotton Merino … Choose your favourite yarns here: )

Needles 3 mm (I knit loosely).

Dyeing your own yarn!

Handcraft people have crazy ideas!

If your children have some dried out felt tip pens (markers) there is great way to recycle them before throwing them out!

Would you like to have yarn like this?

It's easy!

Break the markers open and put the color filled piece into the jar big enough for yarn as well.
Soak them in the water till all color came out!
Look the pictures in kriuks2 blog.
Insert yarn (natural not acrylics).
Put the jars into big casserole pot filled with water.
Simmer about 1hr. Add vinegar (1tablespoon per jar)simmer 1/2h more.
Let it cool down. Rinse.

I have not tried it myself but others have done great job with it!

It's a similar to dyeing with Kool-Aid .

Even if I don't do any knitting or crocheting myself (still) would like to show you one great estonian knitwear designer Eha Väli.
She started to publish her designs on her blog lately and she has done it very successfully!
her latest pearl is Eha's Flower Top.

The pattern will be transalted to english as well and as soon as she is coming back from her long holiday it will be on sale!

Like you can see there are no new posts for long time...

The reason is my world is upside down ...

because thre is new baby on the way...

I can't take any knitting or other crafts on my hands.

Just laying down and feeling sick...
